If AWS Were a Game, How Should You Start Playing?
Ver en la agendaVer descripción
In this fun and beginner-friendly session, we will explore the world of cloud computing through a gaming-inspired perspective. Instead of starting with a long list of services and acronyms, we will look at AWS as if it were a game: with different maps, tools, resources, challenges, and strategies that you need to understand before moving to the next level. We will start with the basics of cloud computing and what it means to build and run applications in the cloud. From there, we will explore some of the main AWS service categories, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and containers, using simple analogies to make the concepts easier to understand. Throughout the session, we will discuss services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon VPC, and Amazon ECS, explaining what each one is designed for, when it makes sense to use it, and how these services can work together as part of a complete solution. We will also talk about an important part of learning AWS: understanding that knowing the name of a service is not enough. Just like in a game, choosing the right tool for the right situation can make a big difference. We will explore how factors such as scalability, availability, cost, security, and operational effort can influence technical decisions. Another key topic will be how to approach the AWS ecosystem without feeling overwhelmed by the number of available services. We will discuss practical ways to build a learning path, focus on foundational concepts first, and gradually expand your knowledge as new challenges appear. By the end of the session, attendees will have a clearer understanding of how the main AWS building blocks fit together, how to start learning cloud technologies in a structured way, and how to make better decisions when choosing services for different scenarios. The goal is to make the first steps into AWS less intimidating and show that learning cloud can be much easier when you understand the rules of the game before trying to play every level at once.
